Booklet structure and color palette

The booklet's color palette was inspired by the theme of unity, with each section's color gradient making up a small part of the greater whole. The sections gradually transition color as the reader pages through the document, allowing for a cohesive and unified user experience. The booklet starts and ends on the same color, also tying into the theme of oneness and the interrelatedness of seemingly separate elements.

FEATURE STORY 1: MARA FOSDICK

The booklet featured three key testimonial features, each corresponding to the three pillars of the archdiocesan vision

FEATURE STORY 2: MICHAEL & SARAH DOERNEMAN

For each primary feature story, custom photography was art directed and curated to match the color theme of each booklet section. The coloring of elements on the page including pull quotes, icons, and other embellishments was mapped to the central gradient in the spine of the layout according to their vertical positioning on the page and the gradient value at that particular value on the Y axis.

UNITE EVENT REPORT

In additional to testimonial stories, the booklet provided details on the event in a newspaper style. Large photographs allowed these sections to remain visually dynamic.

SECONDARY FEATURE STORIES FROM ACROSS THE OMAHA AREA

Shorter feature stories provided quick and inspirational reads to counterbalance the longer form of the surrounding articles.

FEATURE STORY 3: DANA WASHINGTON

Because each feature story focused on a different keynote speaker from the event, smaller photographs from the talks themselves accompanied the larger headshot images.

EVENT REPORT (CONTINUED)

The event report section threaded through the booklet to lend variety and divide the length of the story across several pages.
